چکیده

Abstract Dietary polyphenols like epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG)—which represents the most abundant flavan-3-ol in green tea—are subject of several studies regarding their bioactivity and health-related properties. On many occasions, cell culture or vitro experiments form basis published data. Although stability these compounds is observed to be low, reported effects are directly related parent whereas impact EGCG degradation autoxidation products not yet understood merely studied. its dimers theasinensin A D, “P2” oolongtheanin characterized same extent as parental polyphenol. However, investigate products—which would minimize discrepancy between vivo data—isolation structure elucidation techniques urgently needed. In this study, a new protocol acquire D well depicted, including variety spectroscopic quadrupole time-of-flight high-resolution mass spectrometric (qTOF-HRMS) data characterize assign isolates. Through nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, polarimetry, especially circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy after enzymatic hydrolysis complementary atropisomeric stereochemistry isolated theasinensins illuminated elucidated. Lastly, direct comparison monomer itself carried out antioxidant properties featuring Trolox equivalent capacity (TEAC) values. These findings help cellular and—which special interest flavonoid group—their redox

ISOLATION AND STRUCTURAL ELUCIDATION OF THE FIRST KNOWN C-HOMOPROTOBERBERINE

A novel C-homoprotoberberine alkaloid, Hediamine (2), has been isolated from the roots of Berberis actinucantha (Berberidaceae). Conclusive proof for the structure of hediamine was obtained by its comparison with the isomeric lactam (4), by chemical transformation, and by means of spectroscopic techniques (UV, IR, MS, NMR).

Differentiation-Inducing Activity of the Phyto-polyphenols Epigallocatechin-3-gallate and Kaempferol on NB4 Cells

Background and Objective: The rate of survival in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) can dramatically improve, if the patients receive all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA) treatment. However, this drugchr('39')s toxicity is a major problem in APL treatment. Previous researches have demonstrated that phyto-polyphenols such as epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and kaempferol cause apoptosis in hematopoie...

Quercetin and epigallocatechin gallate effects on the cell membranes biophysical properties correlate with their antioxidant potential.

Quercetin and epigallocatechin gallate are two of the most abundant polyphenols in dietary plants, including apples, onions, red wine and green tea. The bioactivity of polyphenols is linked to their ability to interact with cell membranes without being internalized. The aim of the present study was to assess the short-time effect of these polyphenols on membrane anisotropy and transmembrane pot...
